Cobalt Studios Seminar - Foliage I

I was selected by Rose Brand to attend Foliage I at Cobalt Studios on a scholarship. During a five day seminar, I created three large tree projects, using many tools and techniques including sponge rollers, stamps, and rollers carved with leaf patterns to create photo-realistic foliage.

USITT Paint Lab - The Importance of Every Brush Stroke

During a 1 hour session, I painted the illusion of glass and reflection using only a black and white glaze.

Texture Library

Using natural textures as references, I created a library of textures to practice the techniques necessary to recreate them theatrically.

Translucency Study

Using a digital image as an elevation, I created a translucent flat, back painting the image to be shown when backlit.

Pissarro Shapes

I completed the exercise of painting the Pissarro shapes in order to understand how to effectively render 3d objects.
